the point where nothing IS and something soon will BE

its common to have artist block..and yea..its extremely frustrating and annoying...

instead of staring blank at the butter paper trying to squeeze something out,

i found this inspiring book in the library....

The movie director begins with an empty screen

A composer brings sound out of silence

The sculptor sets their chisel upon a block of faceless granite

A painter begin work with a blank canvas

All artist starts from the same point:

"the point where nothing IS and something soon will BE"

metaphor

caught this metaphor from a book I read recently....

Imagine that you're a student in an art class. You and dozens of classmates are learning from a master painter. One day your teacher displays a painting of his own. It's an incredible work of art, and he wants each of you to copy it.

You're about to begin working when you turn to look at the person next to you. You're surprised to note that he has a larger brush than you and a different kind of canvas. You look around at the rest of the class. Some students have acrylic paint, others watercolor, still others oil--- and everyone is using different colors. Though you all have the same assignment, you each have completely different materials. This frustrates you. Some student have materials you would prefer for yourself. Why should they get them?

You're not the only student to notice the disparity. A hand goes up on your left. A girl with only a ragged brush and three pale shades of blue on her palette is noticeably agitated. " This isn't fair," she tells the teacher. " How do you expect me to duplicate your painting when the people around me have so many more colors to choose from?"

The teacher smiles. " Don't worry about the other students, " he says. "I've carefully chosen brushes and paints for each of you. Trust me. You have what you need to complete the assignment. Remember, your goal is not to create a painting that mirrors the person next to you, but to do your best with the materials I've given you to replicate my painting."

by Joshua Harris

In this metaphor, God is the master painter and we're the students. He had set the same goal for us all, which is to live a life he did. And, each one of us are given different talents, opportunity, strength and even weakness. Not one of us are made the same. Living in this real world, the spirit to compete lies within us in order to survive. That is why, we often like to compare the things we own with the thing others have. We always see that people have more than we do.

But in truth, God has given us everything we need to glorify Him.

can't wait to start!!!!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.....since young, I've always been dreaming to have one of those mobile homes....always imagine myself living in one of those things, parking it infront of the school the day before so that can just wake up and go to school in the morning...=) travel to places without having to leave home...i even remember myself in deep thoughts for hours...coming up with different ways to fit the flat screen television, ways to transform a bed to a dining table and stuff....i just let myself dream and dream.....it was so fun dreaming those imaginations.....

Never have I thought that, one day......THIS DAY............. I'll actually be given a chance to do something similar to that!!!!

After completing the bridge project....project 02 was given by d lecturer minutes after the assessment. This 2nd project....got us all excited!!!! title? Container Architecture...... sounds boring? wait till you see examples of those built abroad!!! They're like dreams being made in reality!!!! its allll happening!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh...... I can't wait to start designing my very own custom made, self satisfying, container....

We're even given the freedom to choose our own site, be it the tree top, hill top or lakeside.....as long as its logical and build-able.... the only problem is, our lecturer wants proof of us actually being at the site, by actually being in the photos of site we take....by this friday....ah.....limited time...where to find a nice spot???!!! I can only think of Broga hill...i wan to go Broga hill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wa~~~~ waking up in the morning looking at the sunrise......a million stars above you at night.....clouds below you while you read a book.......so nice so nice wey!!!!!

with only 3 weeks to complete this project....so many ideas are pouring in.....i just need to start putting it together........solving the piping systems....air ventilation ( no aircond allowed...betul betul green architecture) and space planning.....

ahh.........so much to do with so little time....but so much excitement with so little knowledge!!!! by the way, we're allowed to design all the furniture inside on our own too....in order to plan our space according to our own design needs... anyone with interesting crazy ideas or suggestions on site?? please inspire me ~~~~weeeeeeee~~~~~

let's start dreaming and then make the dreams come true!!!!!

Thank God for this =)

lesson 02

note to self:

if it is of God's plan, it will happen no matter what. so, stop thinking about it...stop worrying about it..have faith and pray...

wait for the Lord, be strong and take heart, and wait for the Lord.
psalm 27:14

satisfaction

if the satisfaction of getting the work done isn't enough,
compliments on the work certainly managed to do the job!!!

all the hardwork, all the sleepless nights finally paid off!! =)

couldn't be more grateful and blessed!
All glory goes to the Lord.

Thank you Lord for blessing me through every stage.
Thank you Lord for helping me to have faith that it will somehow work out in the end.
Thank you Lord for guiding me and giving me the patience, endurance and strength to get things done.
Thank you Lord for everything.
