Thanks to their crazy actions and naughty ideas, these four long and depressing days went by easily. yeap..Although, a part of me rejoice for being released from the shouting and begging for kids to listen to me talk days...Yet, I'm gonna miss talking crap with them. From what I've experienced, other than the sorethroat, I kinda enjoy their company. They're just standard 1,2 and 3 ; so, teaching them simple tenses in english was not a big problem for me but teaching chinese? Oh no....big problem. Speak in chinese can la, write in chinese also can la...but to teach those 笔顺，拼音，and what 陈述句....wa..I dun remember leh....Hence, yesterday was my 4th and last day. Long story anyway, so nevermind the details, too complicated.
Anyway, it was fun to observe them quietly. If you really observe, despite their high pitch voice and overactively motion, there are a lot to learn from them.
They always help one another even if doing so is gonna cause them trouble.
Last week was their exam week, during their bm paper, there's this part where the question required student to 'gariskan' the answer. And so, there's this boy who don't understand what is gariskan, then he asked me, but the teacher before already warned me not to tell them the instructions. Hence, I didn't tell him the answer. I continued to observe him. He was really sad that he didn't know what to do with the 10 questions. He rest his head on the table and hesitantly he circled the answer, then erased it and circled again...He was hesitating whether he should circle or underline it. Then this girl sitting next to him, wearing her little specs,looking all seriously trying to hint him to underline instead of circling it. haha...they looked so cute. She was half peeping at me, and her hands were pressing to the ruler, showing him to underline, underline. Then the boy was like harh?? didn't understand at first, but as the girl continue drawing lines, he suddenly 'Orh'. ..and a big smile appeared at his face. Within a minute, he finished the paper. Then the girl saw me looking at her, she pretended to be all serious again and checked her answer.
Never will they bring their anger to the next day.
Just yesterday, this girl was angry with this boy. Yet, today, when the boy have question in his studies, when the student next to the boy was not willing to teach him, guess who was the one who taught him patiently, explaining with reasons and example to him? It was the girl who was bullied by him the day before.
Always active and happy. Just a little joke is enough for them to laugh all day.
They have no worries, even if they were crying this minute, the next minute, they'll be rolling on the floor laughin over something that might not even seem a bit funny to the adults. There's this really cute boy, during music lesson, while others were singing this song, this boy were doing actions that he made up on his own. Instead of stopping him straight away, I continue to observe him and after they were done singing the song, I asked the boy to come forward and repeat his action infront of his classmates while the others sing the song again. He was half laughing and half shy but still he came out and performed his action. Some actions that he created really made me laugh like crazy, but even the not so funny actions were enough to make his classmates laugh all day. It was really fun to hang around with them.
hmm...If only I can continue teaching them english. But too bad, if I am to continue teaching after the holidays, I will be given another timetable and bla bla bla lotsa stuff. Lazy to explain la. Anyway..yesterday was my last day, eventhough it was just shortly 4 days, it was enough to make me miss them la.......so...I made them write something for me as souvenir. Just a simple few sentence, they can come up with all sort of nonsense. Funny nonsense. haha
I wrote a few statement on the board and ask them to fill in with their own answer.( indirectly, it was teaching them spelling and grammar too since they learned to spell so many words in order to complete their answers.) favourite become fabourite....what also got la...
