Word of God

41LORD, show me your love,
and save me as you have promised.
42I have an answer for people who insult me,
because I trust what you say.

49 Remember your promise to me,your servant;
it gives me hope.
50When I suffer, this comforts me:
Your promise gives me life.

51Proud people always make fun of me,
but I do not reject your teachings.
52I remember your laws from long ago,
and they comfort me, LORD.

53I become angry with wicked people
who do not keep your teachings.
54I sing about your demands wherever I live.

55LORD, I remember you at night,
and I will obey your teachings.
56This is what I do:
I follow your orders.

psalm 119

But the LORD does what is right; he has set me free from those wicked people.
psalm 129:4

For this, I will forgive them; just like You have forgiven us.

Wall light ^^

Finally, after 3 long weeks, where 1 week of researching on the tribe, 2 weeks of searching for materials and constructing, 3 nights of not sleeping...(not continuosly la), my wall light is done!!! wanna see wanna see???

Beginning with the study model

Then, testing on the materials.... kinda going cabbage form d ><

Then, try again with real leaves.... ^^

Finally, the final touch up....lights off

deng deng deng deng~~~ lights on!! I present to you my Kikuyu wall light. ^^

nice a not? nice a not?? From the photo not really clear though. Don't have the feel. Anyway, we were asked to design a wall light after researching on a tribe we choose. I chose the Kikuyu tribe from South Africa, Kenya. Can you translate what kind of tribe the Kikuyu is from the wall light?

If you looked carefully, the leaves, leaning against each other, actually gives the feeling of supporting. They crowd together (showing unity) to protect the one light.
There are actually 9 pieces of leaves you see. Its actually related to the Kikuyu legend. The Kikuyu tribe believed that, the God of creator, which is known as Ngai, placed a man named Kikuyu on the Holy mountain, where he met a woman. They had 9 daughters...that's why there are nine leaves to protect that nine daughters. Kikuyu prayed hard for 9 good husbands for his daughters. That's why there's nice pieces of rolled up darker green leaves below, supporting the sculpture. And also, the Kikuyu tribe's shield, are similar to the shape of a leaf. Originally, I didn't plan to use leaves. But then, comments and advices and ideas from lecturers and friends...solving problems caused by materials. the final product became like this. At least, its better than what I expect. ^^

Do my explanation make any sense? I hope so. Because, tomorrow is the submission day. >< yikes..

This is my 2nd basic design project and basic design always gives me that satisfaction when everything is done. And seriously, the feeling is realllllllllly goooooood..... its like starting from scratch. ahh~~~ I wonder what's the next project will be.... ^^

Art Night

Yet another successful event! What is Art night you asked? Would be more than happy to share. Art night is a super duper extremely fun night filled with singing, dancing, storming performances. It was held right in my college last Friday night. The Performing Art Club (P.A.C) was the main organizer and performers for it. Thanks to the interior architecture students, the plain ol boring student corner was transformed into a rocking mysterious cave-like corner. Even the lecturer said it looked somewhat Hardrock cafe. lol. U.V dance, Storm (playing percussion like d blue man thingy), choir, solo, silly dance. The night went on and on. It was just awesome. Glad to be one of the PAC members.

P.A.C. HUAT LAH~~~!!!!
