"Love unexpressed is not love at all"

was reading the weekly wisdom from "Christ Notes" and this statement caught my eye.

"Love unexpressed is not love at all"

how shallow of me to be thinking that the word express simply means letting people know that you love, be it family, friends or lovers.

but as i read on, it was talking about a whole different thing.

Love are often expressed verbally, which can be said superficial. How true of the saying that we often heard, " we often talk love, but don't live love".

In the bible, it is written clearly that we should love one another. All christians know that from the very beginning, yet sad to say, not all apply it at all times. me included.

If you say that you love someone, but don't express it by what you do, then that "love" is worthless. Indeed, it isn't even real love.

Likewise, 1 John 3:17-18 asks, "If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth." Here again, we are instructed to love with actions—not just with our mouth.

you don't have to say it out loud to love,
just do it.

love is patient, love is kind.It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
